fertilizer
When installing a new lawn, it’s good to apply a half inch of Grade A compost over your existing soil. Avoid seasonal fertilizers that are high in nitrogen which may stress your lawn while it’s trying to establish. All sod delivered by diablo mulch & Sod is fertilized and treated for weeds prior to harvest.
Choosing a Fertilizer
Compost
Top dressing with a thin layer of compost ¼ inch thick, once or twice a year while your lawn is still growing, can be very beneficial to the health of your lawn. Compost contains microbes, nutrients, and an abundant supply of organic material. It also aides drought resistance and acts as a natural aerator in compacted and clay soils.
